Transfers with Negative Reconciled Values

This analysis rule includes the transfer elements that have negative reconciled values from a Sigmafine mass or volume balance. In a Sigmafine model, a negative transfer physically equates to materials flowing in the opposite direction than the intended (positive) direction. Negative Reconciled Values result from a strong imbalance at the source or destination elements of the transaction that pulls the resultant balancing flow to a negative.

The following table lists a sample log output for this analysis.

Analysis Method

  1. Collect a list of all transfer elements in the current Case that satisfy the following criteria:
  • Status Attribute value is IS (In Service).
  • The reconciled value (either by mass or by volume) is negative in the current case.
  1. Write to the log section of the case. Report the violation, Element name, and reconciled values.

Configuration Using the Wizard

The configuration of the Transfers with Negative Reconciled Values is a selection of the Post-Reconciliation Gross Error Analysis Rule. You open the window for configuring the test (shown in the following figure) from the General Gross Error Analysis Rule Wizard.

  1. Open the Gross Error Configuration window as described in Configuring - General Gross Error Analysis Rule.

  2. On the Transfers tab, select Transfers with negative reconciled values.

A Transfers with negative reconciled values - Attributes window opens.Figure 434: Transfers with negative reconciled values - Attributes window

  3. Select measurement basis and the Attributes according to the following table:

    Attributes

    SelectionsDescription
Measurement BasisSelect either mass or volume basis.
ReconciledTransfer reconciled measurement - default to 'ReconciledMass' or 'ReconciledVolume' depending on mass or volume selection.
StatusTransfer in/out of service status. The default is to 'ObjectStatus'.
  4. Click OK to finish the configuration.

The text "CONFIGURED" displays next to the 'Transfers with negative reconciled values' selection.

  5. To run this test, see Running the Post Reconciliation Gross Error Analysis.
